20th Annual Human Rights Watch Film Festival Panel Discussion

The 20th Annual Human Rights Watch Film Festival will hold an opening night screening of FREEDOM ON FIRE: UKRAINE’S FIGHT FOR FREEDOM by Academy Award nominated director & filmmaker, Evgeny Afineevsky (Winter On Fire) at HOT DOCS Ted Rogers Cinema.

HREC Director of Education Valentina Kuryliw joins filmmaker Evgeny Afineevsky, Canadian journalist Lisa LaFlamme, and Human Rights Watch’s Crisis and Conflict Director Ida Sawyer for a special opening night post-screening discussion of the film FREEDOM ON FIRE: UKRAINE’S FIGHT FOR FREEDOM by Academy Award nominated director & filmmaker, Evgeny Afineevsky (Winter On Fire) at HOT DOCS TED ROGERS CINEMA, WED MARCH 8 @ 7:30PM for the 20th Annual Human Rights Watch Film Festival.

The Human Rights Watch Film Festival (HRWFF) bears witness to human rights violations in direct storytelling and exposé form, and creates a forum for courageous individuals on both sides of the lens to empower audiences with the knowledge that personal commitment can make a difference.
